Healed and Whole

Some weeks are just hard. B's fever has returned and when we went to the doctor for his follow up appointment, she seem baffled by this. She has (finally) referred us to UVA to see an Immunologist. Now my heart pounds, hoping they will see him quickly. I don't want to wait for weeks to get an appointment, then for weeks to get test results. I know my child belongs to God first, but right now I am very concerned about him and I want immediate care to be given. We are finishing his antibiotic and started him on probiotics this week to start building back the good bacteria in his body.

I have laid on the couch with B a good part of the week. He lets me choose movies and I pick ones that we haven't watched in a long while. We pulled out Disney's "County Bears" and "Because Of Winn Dixie." I enjoy movies that have good music in them and both of those do. We don't own "The Fox and The Hound 2" but that is one that is filled with fun songs performed by country stars. He has played on the laptop a good bit and worked on his new DS game. One night he got up for about 30 minutes to ride his bike. Yesterday we ventured to a golf lesson. I thought he'd just lay on the blanket with me and watch the twins. When we arrived, he decided to try and enjoyed himself. He was wiped out the rest of the evening. Today he offered to read "Ramona Quimby, Age 8" to the boys during quiet time. So sweet, but now he is hoarse. Oh my!

I covet your prayers for my boy. I love him more than life itself and I yearn for him to be healed and whole.

I am so, so sorry that you are going through this trial. My heart hurts for your son and for you (and the rest of your family, too, of course). I'm relieved with you that you've been referred to a specialist, and I pray that the appointment will come soon and will bring some definite, helpful results.

You have my heart during this difficult time...
