NYC

On Tuesday, August 10, 2010 our family drove to NYC. Our Fresh Air Fund child, A, needed to be returned a few days early, so we took a trip to NYC to deliver him. What an adventure!
A is reunited with his mama in NYC.
City sights...We parked in a garage near the Staten Island Ferry ($40 for two hours!) and set out...
Statue of Liberty!
Dad, B and J.
Mom, A and C.

The twins were so excited to be in the city!
A is growing up so fast!
Staten Island Ferry...we were on one going the opposite direction.
This was before the security guard asked them to get down...the boys were taking it all in!
Four sweet boys on the Staten Island Ferry, the Big Apple waits behind them! We spent the night in a hotel in New Jersey and took a bus back into the city for day two...
Up, up...and away!
First stop of day two. After a crazy bus ride into the city, we were all ready for a treat!
New York style pizza...it does a body good!
Just how effective is advertising in Times Square? There are thousands of ads, billboards, signs and flashing lights...how can someone focus on one at a time? It makes me tired to just look at this photo! I am so glad I live in a quieter, slower paced, small town!

The silver ball in Times Square...it looked so tiny in the midst of all the chaos!
The boys were so excited to find this huge Optimus Prime statue. They each picked out a Transformers vehicle, J was able to find the Iron Hide he's been searching high and low for.
Lego's version of the Empire State building...I cannot imagine how long it took to make this thing!
Final stop inside the Times Square Toys R Us...Hot Wheels heaven. Next time we will start with this area and not go any deeper into the store! Pick a car for $1.19 and let's move on!

The boys inside "M & M World." Walls and walls of CHOCOLATE...and all things "M & M." Really? Seriously!

The temperature outside was almost 100 degrees. We walked at least 60 city blocks (about five miles) and took in more sights and sounds than I could possibly document on film. We spent an hour or so eating lunch in Central Park, feeding pigeons and people watching. Around three in the afternoon, we caught a bus back to Jersey from the Port Authority bus stop. We hit the road around 4:30 and six hours later, we were home...in our quiet, clean, quaint little town...Ah...it was fun to visit NYC, but our family agreed that we are blessed to live where we live!
