Consider…Give! I Challenged…You Gave!

consider...give

I chose to use the month of December to offer a daily challenge to others.

I began The Honor Project over a year ago and have been overwhelmed by the ways that our community has responded to bless others.

I see people who are beginning to desire a lifestyle that is simple and minimalistic.

I see those who are looking at the excess in their live and asking, “Who needs this more than I do?”

We all have something in our hands, and we can all do something to help a person in need.

This month alone, I been blessed to connect the resources of some with the needs of others.

I hope I do not forget anyone, but here is the list that I have kept during December….

*40-50 boxes for Operation Christmas Child were filled and turned in

*5+ bags of supplies were donated to New Creation and will go to bless survivors of human trafficking

*$200+ was collected to help a family pay their electric bill

*a space heater was given to keep a family warm during the cold snap

*a widow’s gas tank was filled and she was give money to buy gifts for her family

*a single mom of four was blessed with a gift card to buy gifts for her children

*clothes, hats, scarves, gloves and a coat were given to bless a single mom

*money and food were given to provide three families with a Christmas dinner box (a 10 pound ham, 5 pounds of potatoes, green beans, applesauce, homemade jam/jelly and apple butter, homemade bread, cookies, cupcakes, banana bread and a gift were in each box)

*gifts and a ham were donated to bless a single mother of two

*a $50 Walmart gift card was given to help a family with Christmas dinner

*$100 and a care package was sent to a family in need

*$250 was given to bless another family in need

*$50 Target gift card was given to help a family buy diapers and clothes for their baby

*$50 Target gift card helped buy gifts for another family

*A brand new, beautiful coat was donated to give to a young lady who is most grateful

*$20 was given to bless a single dad in need

*$25 Walmart gift card went to bless a single mom who is on disability, giving her a little extra for her daughter

*$50 gift card for a single mom who rarely does anything for herself

*Various gifts given to bless widows and single moms we know

I am blown away by the generosity of my friends and the community around me. I believe that 2014 is going to a year full of more of this kind of giving and I am open to being used as a connector between the need and resource for as long as He allows me to be! To Him be all the glory, honor and praise!

May we all live simply, that others may simply live. May we use what is in our hand to be His hands and feet to the world around us!
