Yes, this really happened!

During the past week, Darrel knew that he was in a contest at work and he hoped to win one ticket to this game, maybe two. On Saturday evening, we were making plans for him to take Brandt, as he is the firstborn and we want to make sure he gets to have experiences like this one…first!

Darrel received a phone call that there was a third ticket available, so Brandt quickly and easily said, “Take the twins, Dad.” We were proud of him for his willingness to give up his spot, but I had a feeling something better was about to open up,.

Sure enough, the phone rang again and he was told there were five tickets total. He asked if I wanted to go along, but I knew that Brandt would have more fun if we invited Carter to go with him.

On Sunday afternoon, December 1, the guys set out around 3 in the afternoon. They traveled to the FedExField and went to the Comcast Suite to enjoy a catered dinner in a heated box. They watched the Redskins play the Giants, Carson was happy with the outcome of a Giants victory. They returned home around 3 a.m.

This experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity for our guys. In this season of life, where they have worked hard to complete school projects, paracord fundraisers and early Sunday mornings at church, I am looking for ways to honor and bless them. This was a huge gift from God to my guys and I loved hearing their excited, albeit exhausted, chatter the next day. Thanks, Father!
