I Love These Ladies

I don't often allow myself to be photographed. There are certain folks I never get a photo taken with and I decided I'd do something about that today! My grandma is special to me, dear to my heart. As she celebrated her 80th birthday last year, I was reminded how blessed I am to have her in my life. Many people my age do not have their grandparents around to live and learn with. I am blessed. Grandma is a giver, very much a Martha in a day when the art of service is lost to many. She loves to give to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She still works a part time job just so she can spoil us. When we have a meal, she is rarely sits down, always intent on serving others. I love her and I pray that we will have many more years of memories together.

Sweet baby N was born last June. Just a few weeks later, we found out that her Poppa was very sick. For almost three months we went back and forth to the hospital to check on him and keep her Nana company. This little miss was a ray of sunshine on the darkest of days. She kept us all smiling, gave us something to look forward to. We bonded during those months. One of the blessings in disguise during those horrible months was getting to know this precious baby girl. I thank God for her every time I see her sweet face.

Sweet baby N celebrated her first Easter this year. She is ten months old and has to be the sweetest, most laid back, easy going baby I've met in a long time. She doesn't make much noise, doesn't fuss unless she's hungry. She is a precious gift from heaven above! She looks so much like her Poppa (who has gone to be with Jesus) and her Nana (who loves on her every single day). N is the daughter of my cousin S, so I am "Auntie Cousin H" to her.
