Happy Birthday, BC!

My precious, firstborn son! You are thirteen. How can this be? I stand beside you, eye to eye. We can share the same pair of flip flops, as your feet are now as big as mine. Your hands are bigger than my own. In some ways, you are still my little boy. In other ways, you are growing to become a man. People comment on your deep voice. You are the big guy that all the little ones look up to. In some ways, I wish I could stop time, or at least slow it down. In other ways, it is amazing to see you growing up and I do not want to delay the process of you becoming the man God wants you to be. I pray that you will hold on to His hand, always. I pray that you will allow Him to soften your heart, to humble you, to shape you and mold you into a vessel for His glory. You are a strong willed young man. That can be used for good for for destruction, I pray that you will use the gifts He's placed within you for His glory and to bless others.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NKJV)

These are some of my favorite verses from the Bible. He has a plan for you that is good and He wants His best for you. Hold on to Jesus, trust Him with your whole heart, seek Him, call out to Him, invite Him into every situation you face. He promises that He will listen to you, He will be found by you!

BC, I am honored to be your mama. It is my greatest joy to be a mother to you and your brothers. This year, God brought a whole new bunch of young people into our lives, more kids for me to love on, nurture and disciple. I love them and I want to be faithful to mentor them and raise them up in God's ways. But, you and your brothers come first. You belong to me, first. I am available to you, when you need me. Always and forever, your mommy I'll be. Remember the song I wrote for you when you were a baby? "I love my baby boy, I love my baby boy. You bring me so much joy, I love my baby boy. Where 'er you go, where 'er you be, I'll always love you so. I love my baby boy. I love my baby boy." I am so proud of you and I count it my highest honor to be your mama!
