"Breath Of Heaven"

**More than thirteen years ago, I was asked to sing this song in a huge Christmas production for our church. It was an honor. However, I was miserably sick the entire week of the play and I could barely get through each performance without rushing off stage. The following week, I took a home pregnancy test and found out that I was pregnant with my firstborn. This song took on a whole new meaning to me the following Christmas as D, B and I were to play the roles of Joseph, baby Jesus and Mary in the same production. How precious, to spend my first son's first Christmas portraying the blessed family. B was also dedicated that Sunday morning and we sang a song I wrote for him, "Celebrate the Child."

This song continues to move me. I cannot fathom what Mary was experiencing, but I do know my own desperate need of the breath of heaven. I need that breath to fill me, to change me, to keep my heart tender. In the thirteen years that have passed since I first sang this song, it has become the cry of my heart.

This December, I had several requests to sing it again. The week before Christmas, D learned the difficult piano part and we gave it as our gift to our church family last Sunday.**

Breath Of Heaven by Amy Grant

"I have traveled many moonless night
Cold and weary with a babe inside
And I wonder what I've done
Holy Father You have come
And chosen me now to carry Your son

I am waiting in a silent prayer
I am frightened by the load i bear
In a world as cold as stone must I walk this path alone
Be with me now, Be with me now

Breath of Heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of Heaven

Breath of Heaven
Lighten my darkness
Pour over me, your holiness
For your holy Breath of Heaven

Do you wonder as you watch my face
If a wiser one should of had my place
But I offer all I am for the mercy of your plan
Help me be strong
Help me be, help me

Breath of Heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of Heaven

Breath of Heaven
Lighten my darkness
Pour over me your holiness
For you are holy...
Breath of Heaven"
