T.G.I.F. Really!

We had a great week and packed in a lot of studies. We even doubled up on on B's work one day so he could go on a FT with his former classmates today. Up at 5 a.m. and out the door by 5:30, the bus pulled out at 6 sharp. D went with him to VA Beach and they have a full day planned. C, J and I had a good morning. The highlights for me were our morning "walk and talk" and getting to sit and listen to each one read individually. Precious. In our "walk and talk" sessions we discuss things that we have learned about God in nature, new things we've picked up in our lessons. I usually come home with a wilted dandelion or some other treasure. As we approach our driveway, the boys tear off for their "three laps around the house" then we resume our studies.

From time to time I hope to share "Heart Moments" with you. Stories and illustraions of how I see the boys growing in their awareness of God and His ways. This week, as we did our nightly prayer times, I decided we needed to become more deliberate about praying for forgiveness for individual, specific sins. As Christians, we often "gloss over" this area and pray "blanket prayers" such as "God, forgive me for all my sins." I know, as an adult, it is a hard thing to say I'm sorry and name the specifc offense. As we prayed, I led the boys in a prayer that went like this..."Dear Jesus, please forgive me for...." I gave them some time to think about it and then asked them if they wanted to share. C was the one that seemed to be moved that night. "Lord, I'm sorry for tripping J and for how sad it made him. I could see on his face that I hurt him." Ah, if we could all be so receptive.

I anxiously await the details and photos of D and B's adventures. Mom arrives today so the twins and I will spend some time with her. The weekend looks pretty full with soccer, birthday parties and church details. Maybe one weekend we'll be able to sleep in...
