Walking With Leslie Sansone

I recommend this woman's workouts to anyone. Young, old, male, female, athlete, klutz. Of those I am a not-so-young female who is a klutz. If I can do it, anyone can do it. I began two years ago, using DVD's that my sweet friend DG gave to me. That set had 1, 2 and 3 mile workouts. The past fifteen months I challenged myself to walk 60 miles/month or an average of 15 miles/week. I also picked up Leslie's "Walk Away Your Waistline" DVD with a workout belt. I found it at Walmart for $15. A few weeks ago, another friend found "Walk Slim--4 Fast Miles" at Target for $8. I popped it in the DVD player today and I got my bottom kicked. The only way to get four miles in 40 minutes is to JOG!! There were portions of the workout that I thought I would drop on the floor. My bigger concern is what my shins will feel like tomorrow. If I cannot handle the jogging, she lets two of her class members remain at a fast walk for a lower impact workout. Yes, you can do this. If I can anyone can.

Results? I will be truthful, I have worked very hard for over 15 months and have not seen a lot of difference on the scales. I have converted FAT to MUSCLE which weighs more. (So I am told, so I try to comfort myself) However, I have lost about two pants sizes and I have toned my legs and arms. The reason I stepped it up is because it's time for this tummy to change. Ugh. Good old mommy issues, most of us have them. I also had D instruct me as to how to use the exercise ball to do proper sit ups...So, I will have to let you know if a few months if I see a difference.

For now, it is so invigorating to have the windows open, 70 degrees blowing in, have my boys outside working up a sweat shooting hoops while I am making PUDDLES of sweat inside with my DVD. I'm thankful that I can live, move and have the breath I need to even get up and do a workout like this.

I've been working on jogging too-at the gym. I've been doing intervals-I'm up to:
2 min walk @ 4 mph
8 min jog @ 5.7 mph
repeat x3. whew!
