Library Research Paper
B is working hard at his 800 word report. He had to choose three sources for information gathering. His main source was Wikepedia. Who needs dusty old encyclopedias cluttering up life when everything we need to know about life can be found online? He had to write out three bibliography cards and 30 note cards, compile an outline and write a rough draft. Today should be the day that is completed. He's supposed to write a second rough draft, but I'm going to be merciful and edit his first and let the next one be the report he hands in. He needs to print a few illustrations, organize it all in a folder and his report about Thomas Edison will be complete.
Wow, there are a lot of pages to this thing! His expression also reflects my own feelings. While I believe this was a bit much for a ten year old to tackle, his words flow and his writing is captivating to the reader. He has persevered through this, even while he has not felt well. I plan to push all of my boys in the area of writing. They are gifted and I want to see them go places I never dreamed of with their gifts.
