And The Shuffle Begins...

Wow, what began as the simple taking down of the Christmas trees turned into a 12 hour chore. D and I have worked most of the day to pack, repack, organize, haul and shove boxes into the attic. Why does it take so long? We are organized. The house is clean. WHAT IN THE WORLD? Then, when I thought we would both drop...He started our final shuffle. In the 7 1/2 years that we have lived in our house, we have shuffled rooms around to try to make the best use of the 1,500 square feet that God has given to us. When we first moved here, the twins were only 6 months old and our downstairs was all we had, just 900 square feet. As time and finances allowed, D worked on the upstairs, finishing off the boys' room, the second bathroom and then our room. The downstairs bedrooms have used as bedrooms, a den, a Creative Memories room and our home school room. Recently we decided to give B his own room and that means moving him to our room (after we repaint it), moving us to the CM room (after we repaint it) and moving the CM room to the school room. Whew, D has his work cut out for him. It has been awhile since he's had a project, so I think he's up to it. We will see. This should be the final shuffle and hopefully we can make it a few more years in this house. We are grateful for a house that is warm, safe and affordable in times when many are in danger of losing all they have. Thank You God for our home!
