Hamster On A Wheel

Most days I feel like
A hamster on a wheel
I run to get things done
No time to sit still

My feet keep moving
I'm on the run
But then I wonder if
Anything got done

Laundry piles up
No matter how many
Loads I did yesterday

Dishes in the sink stink

And the trashcan is full again
When will it end?

Ah, but then I look up
And I'm reminded of why
I run and run...

Six little eyes looking back at me
I guess I'll just keep on!

This is a silly little ditty to make my mommy friends smile. Whether you stay at home all day and run in circles or go out to work and come home and run in circles, I know you'll understand. Today was one of those days. My house is in upheaval, it feels like we are moving, all we're doing is shuffling three rooms around. It's a mess. I am certain that when this is done I will never have to organize again...Yeah, right.

My dear friend N uses the hamster analogy often, so this is dedicated to her. She has ten eyes looking at her while she treads her wheel!
