Name Above All Names

Today I watched history through the eyes of a fevered ten year old...That's a sad way to spend any day, but B was really not into watching the inauguration. He endured, because his teacher/mom wanted him to. The twins watched upstairs in the comfort of their own room, also near the Lego table. So, when we talk about this years from now, that's what they will remember.

I cried. Not for the same reasons that so many others cried. I cried when I heard people chanting the name of a man. A mere man. I know this is a history making day, but let's not forget about the Man who split time in two, the One who was and is and is to come. The One who is unchangeable, unshakable, unstoppable. The One who always keeps His word and is the same yesterday, today and forever. If we call on His name, we will be saved. No other name holds that kind of power.

Jesus, I do call on Your name. Today and every day. You are worthy, You are on the throne. You don't need any one's vote to be on the throne, You have been there forever and forever You will remain. That's just the way it is. I thank You for being the one constant in my life, the one constant in all of time. You will not waver, falter or turn just because the majority opinion does. Your word is clear when You say, "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, pray and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and I will heal their land." I'm crying out, Lord! Forgive me of my sins, I come to You in humility and I beg of You, heal this land. Bring us to our knees. Do whatever it takes to bring us to repentance. Show us our desperate need of You!
