"12 Days Of Christmas" Countdown, 4 Days

The last Sunday before Christmas...We woke up, ate breakfast with the M family and sent them on their way to NY. As we were walking out the door, our J said he didn't feel well, so D decided to keep him home. They hung out and rested while I took B and C to church. We had a simple service with music, testimonies and a reading of "The Legend Of The Candy Cane." C filled in since D had to stay home. She also sang "Breath Of Heaven" and made us cry! It was beautiful. Her dad sang a special as well. I was blessed to see both of my nieces and my nephew at church this morning. God is good.

If D had been able to attend today, we planned to sing a special as well. "Celebrate The Child" is the song we wrote ten years ago for B's baby dedication. That year we participated as a family in a Christmas production as Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. I sang "Breath Of Heaven" for five years in this production, but never was it as meaningful as it was on my own child's first Christmas. It was a powerful experience for our family. Just two years later, we sang "Celebrate The Child" when we dedicated C and J. I leave you with the words, to be sung another day...

"Celebrate The Child" (words & music by H & D)

Long ago, far away

The baby Jesus lay

He was born one cold winter's night

He brought joy, He brought peace

And sweet release

The angels came to celebrate

Celebrate the Child

Born to give us life

Heaven and earth celebrate

A Child will lead the way

To the highest place

We have come to celebrate

We prayed for you child

He has given what we asked

We give you to His call

Your life will make this world

A brighter place

We join the angels to celebrate

Celebrate the child

Born to give us life

Heaven and earth celebrate

A child will lead the way

To the highest place

We have come to celebrate

Little ones to Him belong...
