"12 Days Of Christmas" Countdown, 10 Days

I got a present today! A new camera lens from my hubby! He's been frantically e-baying old camera equipment and other misc items to help fund this project. So ironic. Because I've been using my photo shoots to help pay off his credit card debt. Isn't there another Christmas story like that? The husband and wife try to surprise each other and end up swapping their own treasures to insure the other has a nice gift under the tree? Just one more reason NOT to have secrets in marriage, right?

The lens is a Cannon EF-S 18-200 mm. I can spy on my neighbors with it (kidding!) and it cost a pretty penny. Yikes! Yes, I do have insurance on it. After having two cameras stolen in less than three months, I decided that insurance was worth the peace of mind. (Those cameras were Rebel film cameras, but I loved them just the same. One was stolen from our vehicle and the other was on loan to a family member and was taken from their home. It was not a happy time!) One of my goals for 2009 is to finally take a course on photography and get more comfortable with all the settings on my camera. I have owned it for almost two years and still shoot in the automatic setting most of the time. The new lens is so heavy, I guess I should add in some more weights to my daily workouts so I can hoist the bad boy! Thanks, D!

Sweet! What lens did you get? If you say the 70-200mm L glass I'm gonna scream. I've been drooling over that lens but just can't justify the money for it!
