His Provision

2008 has been a hard year for most of us, especially those of us who own small businesses. Sales have been low this year and with the economy like it is, I knew that most people would not be looking for scrapbook supplies. I understood, but I took it to the Lord again, holding everything with an open hand and prayed the prayer I've prayed so many times before. "This business belongs to You, first. As long as it blesses my family and others, I want to carry on. If ever You decide that I need to lay it down, then show me..." Usually, as soon as I pray that prayer, the phone begins to ring or the emails start rolling in. I have my customers fill out wish lists each year, and then I contact their husbands or mothers to help them select items. I didn't expect much, but to my surprise I am going to sell the same amount as in years past. In the meantime, a customer inquired about hosting an event in her home. Mind you, I have not had anyone offer that in about two years, so it blew me away. Then, she asked if she could do another show in January. Still another customer asked about doing a catalog show for me. It has been a faith walk to see how He is taking care of this need. I enjoy being a Creative Memories Consultant, mainly because of the relationships that have been formed because of the monthly crops and annual retreats. I cherish the friendships that I have been blessed with over the past nine years and wonder what the next year holds for my business. God is good, He has never failed me and He's always ready to take care of His children!
