A Lighter Load

Our house was very quiet until almost nine this morning. I slept until eight and I let the boys sleep until almost nine. I decided that we didn't need to cram in so much work today, when everyone was feeling under the weather. I remember the past six years when I would have a child who was feeling bad, but not so bad that I could decide if he needed to go to school or stay home. If I sent him, I would them second guess myself and fret that he might get sick at school, throw up on another classmate and be scarred for life. If I kept him home all day and he didn't get worse, I would feel guilty that he missed school and would have all that work to make up. Peace has come to my soul. I fret no more. We slept in, threw out a few subjects that were not covered under the basics and by lunch everyone was resting again. What a blessing. I am often asked "So, how is home schooling going?" I am quick to respond, "That part of my life is great. I am so glad we made this choice. I have no regrets. Getting up each day to care for these boys is what keeps me going." Thank God, for He knew just what we needed and when we needed it the most!

Awesome to read this post today. Aaron had to pick Annagrace up from school early because she was puking. I told her when I got home, "if only we were homeschooling and this wouldn't have to happen!" Luckily she only threw up on the floor and not some other kid!

Hope everyone in your house is good and healthy soon (and in my house too!).
