D and D sitting at the bar. It seems that when we have company we end up sitting on those hard chairs the whole time. What's up with that? We have comfortable furniture!The holiday season is upon us. We got through school, I tidied up the downstairs, then moved up to the bedrooms. Pathetic, really. I let my bedroom go and be the catch all for everything that I am too tired to deal with. Two weeks worth of laundry, a pile of CM paperwork, dust an inch thick. Piles of gifts that need to be wrapped...Is that a bed under there? I have a DESK? I didn't even remember what they looked like. It feels good to have a clean room, but I laugh because within 24 hours, I'll be pulling out boxes of Christmas decorations and cluttering it up again...
Some special friends came for dinner tonight. D and D live on the road in their motor coach. Here today, gone tomorrow. They travel all year long and come into town for short visits. We try to see them as often as we can, but they are busy when they are in the area. I threw a stew in the crock pot, made cornbread muffins and D made a salad. Nothing fancy. But the visiting and being together is what we cherish. We sat at our table for four hours and it felt like 30 minutes! We love D and D and are so glad that God brought them into our lives eight years ago. They are "lifers," for sure and for certain.
It's late...I've peeked at online sales and made a plan to go out on Friday...Just for FUN. I don't need anything but I think it will be entertaining to get out, pick up a few bargains and try to bring CHEER to those who are out there acting grumpy. It's my plan, we'll see how it goes.
